3d printing wouldn’t be possible without filament. So let me tell you about the filament. A 3d printer operated with servo motors and extruders, and the extruder is the part of the printer that extrudes the filament. The filament though needs to be melted though so it can form and bend into the shape of the object you are printing.
There are many types of 3d printer filament though. You can get filament made out of plastic, wood, metal, rubber and lots of other materials. The wood filament is is really cool because it can be sanded and treated like wood. The metal filament is not just solid metal it is powdered metal that can be printed in a desktop 3d printer. Rubber filament can be used to make many things, but mostly is used to print phone cases.
