Art Response

Authors Note: I have always liked 3d printing. This subject has helped me so much as a writer. I feel that when i write about pieces that i like.

MakerBot has just released stl files on thingiverse, a website full of 3D models and this particular model is free for download and can be 3d printed. MakerBot team joined forces with artists to create famous works of art at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

This piece caught my eye because it looked so realistic and did not look like it could be carved out of marble and can be so precise and look so nice, and getting into a museum. Thingiverse users can print this out just as precise as the makerbot team. The plans were released to the public 6/2/2012.

This art design is as old as 400 B.C. and has originally been carved out of marble. This is a greek piece that is also from the classical period. This piece is in the Metropolitan Museum of Art and was purchased in 1909.
